Halle Berry’s highly anticipated film, Frankie and Alice -trailer finally released. The psychological film took 12 years to make according to it’s Acadamy Award winning star and will have an awards season qualifying run on December 17, 2010, in New York and Los Angeles before its wide theatrical release, February 4, 2011.
Berry stars as a young woman who suffers from multiple personality disorders in early 1970′s Los Angeles. The film is based on a true story and shows Berry’s character Frankie Murdoch struggling with her own reality and not giving in to her alter personalities (a racist old white southern woman and a 7-yr old child). ”Frankie’s struggles with mental illness came at a time when the medical community and the public were still grappling with the veracity of multiple personality disorder, and I approached this role with feelings of humility, yet great responsibility,” says Berry. Berry is said to have delivered in what is being howled as another Oscar nominating performance.
Sounds like Halle is at her best playing those “tortured souls” she loves to play.
The movie also stars Phylicia Rashad (For Colored Girls) and Chandra Wilson (Grey’s Anatomy).
